Welcome to my Web site! My name is Knut Myhrvold, and I live in Sannidal, Telemark in Norway. Here I run a company called Gitar Doktor'n, and with a name like that, you should be able to figure out what I do. I'm a trained Goldsmith, Fine-mechanic and Optician. I started my career as a guitar-repairman in 1977, for the Hagstrom company in Oslo.
In 82 I started working for Guitar Workshop, and in 83 I decided to move to Bamble and start my own company. In 99 I moved to Sannidal.   I do all kinds of guitar repair, with rewinding pickups as my specialty.My main customers are companies who import guitars such as Ovation, Godin, Takamine, Ritmo, Fernandez, Alhambra and Washburn. In Norway I'm the guy who does warranty service on these brands. I also build Custom Guitars, and you'll see picyures of a few of these on the "Guitars" page.
